We’re Back! And Better Than Before

Group 1.jpg

Metanoia is back for 2021, and better than before! We’re excited to return to a more regular content cycle and to introduce some developments here at Metanoia.

As we begin to post, curate, and call for submissions again, ‘we’ are doing so as a new editorial team. Moving away from solely Jaimee van Gemerden and Andrew Clark-Howard at the helm, we’re back with a crew who have come on board in a shared editorial team. Below, each of the team’s new members have the chance to introduce themselves and tell us a little bit about what they’re all about.

Rebecca Hooper

Rebecca is in her second year of a theology degree, and loves it. She believes that conversation is a springboard for both personal and societal growth, and is excited for the potential Metanoia has for engaging in Christ-centered conversations about contemporary topics.

Timote Naulivou

Timote is currently working on his Masters thesis on a contextual reading of the ‘nations’ in the Book of Revelation. His particular interests are in the intersections of faith, biblical hermeneutics, and culture. He lives in Hamilton with his extended family.

The four of us (Andrew, Jaimee, Rebecca, and Timote) will now form a new editorial team that shares responsibilities and decision-making for contributing, editing, and helping grow Metanoia. The vision remains the same: for Metanoia to be a space in which to engage issues of contemporary life and Christian faith in Aotearoa New Zealand with everything that 2021 will throw at us.

Over the next few weeks we have content lined up reflecting on Christian weddings and the patriarchy, identity and consumerism, and the politics of ethnicity in the Bible. If you’ve got something to submit, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch with the new editorial team here!
